Why are we using mango in this body butter? Well, mangoes have extremely high levels of antioxidants which can help to keep skin clear and soft, consequently, our mango body butter cleans out clogged pores and helps to eliminate spots and blackheads.
Mango is also great for cooling the body down, if you live in a hot climate, and find lotions make you sweat more, then this body butter can be the perfect alternative.
There are so many DIY body butter recipes out there, but we think our homemade DIY coconut and mango body butter recipe really hits the nail on the head, and deliberately avoids hassle and hard to find ingredients making it easy to make. Besides, making mango body butter yourself ensures there are no chemicals and is far more interesting than buying it!
There is a great alternative you can buy on Amazon if you like the theory but not the DIY. It’s by the body shop and is great for aiding glowing skin. You can find it here: The Body Shop Mango Body Butter 200ml A0, Mango, 6.75 Ounce
By making it yourself, you can leave out the nasty chemicals contained in body butters like this one which is supposed to be a good brand. Always check the label.

Need something to put this Body butter in?
We use these retro looking glass jars that seal for freshness! In fact, they’re pretty good for anything and cheap too, but we use them just because it doesn’t clutter our cupboards and it makes recipes look far better! I don’t think we’d make it if it had to go in a bowl with kitchen foil and the like! What else could we put our homemade mango body butter in!
I want a cool glass jar too!

Ifyou do not have mango essential oil, what else can you use?
Natural and Healthy Living
Any Essential oil is good, the positive skin benefits are via the core pure mango butter. Essential oils are more potent and increase lasting fragrance. But you can use essential oils to customize: Tea tree for antibacterial effects for example. Thanks for your comment!

Can you use this on your face? and if so then can this recipe be used without the coconut oil?
Natural and Healthy Living
I would keep the coconut oil in personally, pure vitamin e oil of the face may be too harsh.
