This natural homemade deodorant recipe makes one medium sized deodorant Bar block. Making natural homemade deodorant is a great money saver as well as being great for your general health.
Chemical and antiperspirant deodorant can block pores causes spots and blemishes, but more damaging are the absorption of harsh chemicals into the blood supply. These toxins have to be rid from the system and the body has many ways of doing so. Perhaps the bodies way of pushing out toxins is through blackheads and spots or even to sweat more in the first place! It really can be like fighting a losing battle sometimes.
This natural recipe for homemade deodorant, uses organic compounds such as coconut oil to minimise sweating and while isn’t chemically antiperspirant, it doesn’t force toxins that cause excess sweating in the first place. The tea tree and lavender are natural antiseptics and help control odour naturally and are not overbearing scents. The components lock in moisture and keep you feeling fresher than an artificial one.
½ cup pure Coconut oil
1/2 cup Shea butter, mango butter, or cocoa butter
Just over 1/2 cup of beeswax granules
Tea Tree Essential Oil and Lavender oil
Another half a cup of Arrowroot Powder and another 1/2 cup of baking soda
1. In a small saucepan over very low heat (we don’t want to boil) combine the main beeswax, coconut oil, and choice of butter until melted and mixed together.
2. Whisk in the baking soda and arrowroot until well combined.
3. Remove from heat and allow to cool for a few minutes and then stir in the tea tree and lavender, about 10 drops of tea tree and 20 drops of lavender will do.
4. Pour the mixture into the mould of your choice, some people pour straight into an old deodorant stick.
