Witch hazel is an astringent, i.e. it causes contraction within skin cells. It is made from the North American Witch-hazel shrub also known as Hamamelis Virginiana. It is a natural plant and grows fairly widespread across parts of North America.

Witch hazel can be used to treat bruises and acne on the face, or indeed the entire body. Acne can be extremely difficult to treat, but witch hazel can provide incredible support due to its potent and effective antibacterial components. Apply it after removing makeup and washing your face up to three times a day to reduce acne, it then then be used just once a day as a preventative.
